Since 1975, Sun Communities has owned and operated industry-leading home communities, RV resorts, and marina properties throughout the United States and Ontario, Canada.

This award is symbolic of Sun Communities’ focus on professional management at the community level. Denver, CO

Located on California’s Central Coast in Santa Barbara, El Capitan Canyon includes miles of hiking trails, an operating llama and goat farm, and educational activities for children. With over 400 acres of protected conservation land on the property, Sun Communities worked under compliance regulations and approval from the California Coastal Commission.

CHULA VISTA, CA
This site is adjacent to a national wildlife refuge in an environmentally sensitive coastal location. Now considered the centerpiece of the Port of San Diego’s master plan for the Chula Vista bayfront, the San Diego Bay development required compliance with complex approval conditions similar to those under SEPA and the Cle Elum plan. New public roads and trail systems were established, alongside native landscaping and habitat preservation and restoration.

Located on the Colorado River near Rocky Mountain National Park, the Sun Outdoors Rocky Mountains property gives families an escape. Visit where the foot meets the trail, fly meets the river, and eyes greet every sunset as they melt over the horizon. This 1,200-acre site saw many public improvements, like new roads, better traffic patterns, an improved water treatment facility, and a spillway system for managing river flow and water storage.
